A Letter From the Author

Dear Subscriber,

As you may know, I recently took a couple of months off from writing in order to get some perspective.  A main reason for this “sabbatical” was to find out if the blog was serving the “program of recovery” well enough.

Then I heard from some of you.  Your emails showed concern and appreciation.

To those of you who wrote, I am grateful for your friendship on this journey toward shared abundance.

Some questions remain, such as…

  • Have I heeded the Traditions?  After all, “A D.A. group ought never endorse, finance, or lend the D.A. name to any related facility or outside enterprise, lest problems of money, property, and prestige divert us from our primary purpose” (Tradition 6).
  • Should I continue to refer to multiple fellowships?  Debtors Anonymous, Clutterers Anonymous, Financial Underearners Anonymous, Underearners Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon have all been mentioned in this blog.  Is that helpful or confusing?
  • Should I produce a meditation book based on what’s been written so far?  Would people read it?  Should I be seeking permission from multiple fellowships to use their versions of the Twelve Steps?
  • Is the “recommended reading” a help or a hindrance?

Please take a minute and reply to this email.  Tell me what you think the next chapter should be.

Yours in recovery,

Dave
