How Vision Boards Work

Thought for today:

When we work on creating a new Vision Board for the future, what happens next is that we start to open up to the possibility.  We do our part to understand everything about it.  We consider the Vision as a valuable inspiration.

A member shares about Vision Boards:

“Once a month my DA group has us do Vision Boards, where we cut out pictures from magazines of things we would like to have.  We add words, images, whatever we find that sparks our imagination.  We paste in on colored paper and take them home.

“I sign and date my Vision Board, and hang it on the refrigerator or a wall so I can remind myself of it every day.  Over time, I think my subconscious works on it, because I start to see ways that my vision can become a reality.  I come out with some creative Action Plans from it.

“I’ve achieved education goals, business goals and personal goals by creating Vision Boards, and committing myself to the vision.  I keep memorable boards in a scrapbook, so that I can remember the spiritual power of this creative tool.

“My visions don’t always come true right away.  Sometimes they take months or years.  Sometimes they happen quickly.  Sometimes it seems like life is working against our visions, too.  But they eventually materialize in an unexpected way if we work for them, and if we actively envision them each day.”

Visualization is powerful, but can take time:

Sometimes the journey from vision to reality is not a straight line, but a series of moving forward, then backtracking – circular patterns that seem as if we are not progressing at all.  Then we stumble on something that seems good, but is totally different from our first vision.

Visions evolve through experimentation and discovery. This is a normal part of the process, because visions need experimentation to thrive.*

Am I open to my vision becoming part of my new reality?

Meditation for today:

After a long journey, we finally meet our dream one day.  It appears suddenly.  We greet it, and ask, “What are you?  You seem familiar.”

Our dream responds with a smile and says, “I am your heart’s desire!  See the reality you have created!

“The next time you dream, understand the power you unleash by your will, for I am your heart, and I am always listening.  I bring you to your hearts desire.”

Affirmation for today:

“My heart fills with hope.  My mind calmly assesses my path.  My sail is adjusted to the wind.  My vision is on the good horizon.”

“I have a good attitude toward my dream of the future, distilled from my experience navigating life’s waters.”
