Thought for today:
Living a life full of gratitude, working the Tools and Steps to stay solvent, we can find a way of life that was once unimaginable. We intuitively understand where we need to move in life. The way of happiness which once alluded us is spelled out clearly, and we follow it.
A personal share:
“The best thing that ever happened to me was getting myself back through the Twelve Steps. Dishonesty, greed and fear ran my life. I panicked and ran into debt to avoid them.
“Starting my spiritual awakening has really given me the greatest gift: to be able to look at myself in the mirror and like what I see. Self-honesty was the key to my self-respect, and I will always be grateful for the fellowship that loved me enough to be honest with me.
“Today I have self-love, and I realize that I can give to other members a great gift: sharing my journey of self-discovery and awareness.
“I know I am a compulsive debtor, and I have no qualms about sharing my story if it helps another.”
Living in today:
We don’t have to spend our days regretting the past or wishing for the future. When we dive into the program of recovery we find a new happiness I today – this moment. The regrets of the past and the fears of the future have no hold when we work the program.
Have I passed from the regret phase of my recovery, into the gratitude phase?
Meditation for today:
There is more love today in our sphere of life than we can possibly imagine. So we shouldn’t let fear go unchallenged. When it reminds us of mistakes, broken promises, regrets and longings, we should tell fear that “love will find a way”, because it always does.
The love in us is stronger than any other force in the universe. By reflecting on love each day we heal from the old despair, and find the light of a gratitude.
Affirmation for today:
“I am at peace with my past, because my past helped teach me, and teaches others when I use it for the greater good. Love centers my heart and changes my fears into courage.”
