Thought for today:
Without DA, a “spiritual awakening” might have eluded us. Being mired in debt and overcome with grave anxiety was the normal state for us. Not only have we found solvency, we have also found a faith that works, and a peace of mind in the face of debt. We deal with daily anxieties using the previous eleven steps. We reconcile ourselves with our fellow human beings.
Do I understand the value of my what I have come through with the help of DA?
Meditation for Today:
We can turn our experience to great value when we help others find their way in DA. As I help a new friend in DA, I take out insurance against a future slip into debt. And it is a joy to help.
Affirmation for Today:
I am not afraid of sharing my experience with anyone who wants the help of DA.
Prayer for Today:
Lord, your spirit is working miracles in my life. Help me spend myself in helping someone who needs DA. Help me pass along this great gift.

The book Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions is the definitive guide to all the Steps and Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous. It brings an in-depth understanding of why and how the program of recovery evolved, and how it works to this day, over sixty years after it was first published.
DA adapted the short form of the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions almost word for word (with AA’s permission) and to this day DA recommends we read AA literature, (including the “Twelve and Twelve“) as a way for us to understand the disease concept.
