10 Ways I Make My Own Luck

Thought for today:

The word “luck” implies that all things happen by chance.  The truth is that we need to improve the odds of our goals happening.

We can do this by working the Twelve Tools of DA, especially by developing an Action Plan (Tool Six) that includes career development, savings, credit negotiations.

With good planning, over time our debts are reduced, the snowball effect begins to take hold with our savings and spending.  We get better at managing our money, our careers and our lives.

A member shares:

“I don’t believe in luck.  I believe in improving my odds of a good outcome.  I want to increase my income, and here is what I do:

  1. I invest my time in free online courses that make me more profitable at work.
  2. I plan my projects at work in small, agile tasks that are easier to define and execute.  I communicate with my boss every step of the way.
  3. I have a Spending Plan and an Action Plan that puts my needs first.
  4. I develop websites of my own that I can use to increase my income with affiliate sales.
  5. I am developing an online business that costs me net to nothing, and if I get enough hits it could take off.
  6. I am writing a book.  This stimulates my mind, and helps me realize that I have a lot to offer.  My self-esteem improves.
  7. I take good care of my health, increasing my heart rate with exercise at least five time s a week.  This makes me feel more energetic, and I spend less time sick and tired.
  8. I eat a lean diet.  Once I got off of the sugar and starches, and replied these with protein, veggies and fruits, I felt better. This makes me in better shape to tackle the tough problems I come across in the day.
  9. I make meetings in which I share my feelings, experience, strength and hope.  This improves my attitude and reminds me that I am not alone.
  10. I read books that stimulate my imagination and keep me informed.

“All of these things improve the odds of me hitting my goals of being debt free one day.”

Am I making my luck today?

Meditation for today:

A farmer cultivates the soil, plants seeds, and nurtures young plants with water and fertilizer.  Random weather brings a good crop one year, a bad one the next.  Each year, chance has its way.  The farmer gets insurance for when the weather doesn’t cooperate.  This way the farmer is more likely to make a profit and does not lose money.  The farmer doesn’t leave it to chance, and neither should you.

Affirmation for today:

“Today I lay the groundwork for a happy tomorrow.”
