Thought for today:
Affirmations help shape our consciousness. In the Eleventh Step, we can use affirmations to reinforce where we want to be.
A member shares:
“When I use affirmations, I start to feel more relaxed and empowered. Affirmations that speak to my heart seem inspired by my ‘Higher Power’, providing me clear guidance on the best place for me to head.”
DA Step 11:
Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
What do we want to affirm?
Let’s not put limits on the wonderful recovery we can have in store for ourselves. Why not write our own affirmations, specific to our goals for solvency, prosperity? Perhaps we could even affirm the opposite of some character defect we discovered in our inventories.
If we found ourselves being dishonest, we can affirm, “I am becoming more honest, and this brings me joy.”
If we discovered an uncaring or selfish nature, we can affirm, “I can give generously of myself, without asking for anything in return, because I have abundance to spare.”
If we haven’t made on time payments, we can say, “I am making payment arrangements that make sense for me.”
If we lack trust that our Higher Power is working in our lives, we can affirm letting go, saying, “I trust my Higher Power knows what I need, and I am stepping back so it can happen.”
Affirmations, in the context of Step Eleven, can help us to feel our Higher Power’s presence as never before.
Ask:
Am I affirming prosperity for myself, and those around me?
Meditation for today:
Some of us enjoy yoga practice. The relaxation we enjoy after practice can lead to new inspirations and cleansing our weary souls.
In yoga, we focus on our breath, as a way to stay in the present moment and free ourselves of worry or anticipation of the next thing to do. Inhaling deeply, we hold our breath a moment and think of what we want to let go of or what we want to embrace. Then we exhale any negativity or opposition to our vision. In this way, we can begin a form of meditation.
When we affirm where we want our lives to be, it challenges our present reality. Our defenses are momentarily dropped, and we peak into a future potential of our imaginations.
When we use affirmations, we are setting a new, Higher Powered course.
Affirmations for today:
I am responsible for the effort. My Higher Power is responsible for the results.
Time is my friend. I don’t need to rush. I can carry out all of my goals in the time allotted.
In stillness, I discover my soul.
I have plenty of money to take care of my needs.
Money is coming to me each day, in many ways, and I gratefully accept it.
I have all the time I need to take care of all my needs.
I find peace in silence.
I am on good terms with all people, especially myself. I don’t need to run anyone else’s life to find fulfillment.
No matter what, it is still a beautiful world.
I am grateful.
I have everything I need to do what my Higher Power inspires in me.
I trust in providence.
I am not afraid.
My talents are benefiting me in unexpected ways.
When I look for it, I find abundance in my life.
My children are growing in prosperity, and becoming more self-sufficient, and this brings me joy.
There is nothing that can separate me from my Higher Power.
I am a powerful, prosperous, generous and loving person.
I have friends I haven’t met yet.
I don’t need to prove my worth to anyone but myself.
I am safe in this moment.
