An Attitude of Gratitude

Thought for today:

An attitude of gratitude can inspire us when life’s challenges hit hardest.  Gratitude helps when all else fails.

Getting grateful takes time.  First we stop debting.  Then we start acting in our own best interest. We track our numbers using an income and spending template.  We learn how to manage our money in a Pressure Relief Meeting.  We go through the Twelve Steps.  We become free of the bondage of compulsive debt.

A member shares:

“When I was out there debting, I felt like a victim all the time.  Creditors were chasing me wherever I turned.  I couldn’t catch a break.

“Debt was suffocating me.  I literally woke up from a sound sleep and my first thought was ‘Oh my God, they’re going to get me.’  My chest would pound.  That went on all day long, until I collapsed in exhaustion at night.

“It wasn’t until I joined DA that my sponsor informed me that I could tell creditors to stop calling me and to put everything in writing.  I never knew that the law gave me that power.

“I learned so much from DA.  I learned how to manage spending, and how to work on my character defects.  I became a better person.

“Today, I am a grateful compulsive debtor.”

Ask:

Am I grateful that I found DA?

Meditation for today:

Gratitude can colorize our days, like a move that was black and white, coming to life.   When we share our experience, strength and hope, we find gratitude.

Affirmation for today:

“Opportunities for prosperity are coming to me all the time.”
