How DA Restores Sanity

Thought for today:

What does DA mean when we talk about “insanity”?  In DA terms, it is insane to think that we can use credit cards like normal people.

The fellowship of DA can help us live without credit cards.  We can use cash, track our numbers, and review our spending habits with others in the program.

Once we admit powerlessness over this disease, we find power.

DA Step 2:

Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

A member shares:

“I came to believe I could get better with DA because I saw other debtors get results.  They had confidence that I lacked.”

Back to sanity:

It is a paradox that when we admit defeat in our battle with credit cards, we gain strength.  This power comes from focusing on the Twelve Steps of DA.

DA is a power greater than us.  This power is available to draw strength from.

Ask:

Am I using the program of DA?

Meditation for today:

Sometimes, in the Fall sky, we can notice a flock of small birds migrating to warmer climate.  When they fly, they come together as one.  Their unity makes them fly in such tight formation that they seem to be one large creature.

As we cooperate with DA, we find strength in numbers.  We find the energy of thousands of other debtors working together toward solvency.

Affirmation for today:

“In stillness, I discover my soul..”
