“Will I Ever Have Clarity Again?”

Thought for today:

Vague, lacking confidence, confused, indecisive.  When many of us come into DA, we feel bewildered.  How did we get so off course?  And how do we get back our lives?

DA Promise 2:

Clarity will replace vagueness. Confidence and intuition will replace confusion and chaos. We will live engaged lives, make decisions that best meet our needs, and become the people we were meant to be.

A member shares:

“I never knew what I was spending each month.  I bounced at least five checks a week.  I began to wonder if I would ever find clarity in my life again, I was so confused.

“One of the first moments of clarity I got in DA  was when I started tracking my numbers.  After one week, I looked at the numbers and saw the value right away.

“When I had a PRG meeting, the clarity continued to grow.  My DA friends encouraged me to take care of myself better.  I started to see where I had neglected my life.

“By taking care of my needs first, I started to discover who I really was.  After years of knee-jerk decisions, I started to make healthy choices in my life again.”

Clear decisions

When we get clear about our money, we start to get clear about every other area of our lives. Our jobs become more meaningful.  Our family time is more precious.

Ask:

Am I using the DA principle of clarity in my life?

Meditation for today:

If we feel guilty then there is something we need to resolve in the past.  The Steps can help with that.  If we have more than our share of fear of something, then we are living in a future that may never come.  The fellowship of DA can help with that.  When we work the Steps and join in fellowship, we can truly live in this moment.

Affirmations for today:

“I will take at least one small action toward my recovery.”*
